 Statement of Purpose

Introduction

First, allow me to say a little about myself. I am  , a permanent resident of xxxxxxxxx, Nepal, and the son of xxxxxxxx. My passport number is xxxxxxxx. I was born on 18th December 1996. I have always believed that a great future will come from hard work and having a positive mindset.

I am always up for tackling new challenges in life, and I love learning new things. I am also diligent, ambitious, energetic, and optimistic about succeeding. I was looking for a top-notch destination for the Masters in Professional Accounting (MPA) program when I came across the University of Wollongong, one of Australia's renowned business schools, which is better suited to support me in achieving my professional goals. I briefly discuss my academic background, what I did after completing my Bachelor, why I decided to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Wollongong, how it links to my previous courses, what I hope to do for a living after graduation, and how I was able to secure financial assistance for further study in Australia.

Academic Background

Regarding my academics, I completed my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from Mount Glory Int'l Boarding School Basundhara in 2012 scoring 58.13%. Then I joined St. Lawrence Higher Secondary School and completed my intermediate-level education securing 53.90% in 2014. Later on, I joined Sagarmatha College for higher studies and completed my Bachelor's in Business Studies with 50.50% in 2018.

My decision to major in management throughout my undergraduate studies was influenced by the course's emphasis on developing essential skills for performance in the business environment and increased productivity and efficiency. I took the IELTS test and secured an overall 6 (Speaking 6, Writing 6, Reading 6, Listening 6).

Work Experience

After receiving my Bachelor's degree, I was given a chance to work at Design Station Pvt. Ltd. as an Accountant from 1st November 2018 to till date.

Immigration History

I have yet to file for a visa or have one granted or rejected. This is the first time I have ever applied for an Australian student visa.

Reason for not choosing Nepal

My understanding is that because of a lack of funding in the education sector, Nepal's education system continues to rely on old educational methods, and the courses and syllabi are not updated in line with the requirements and teaching standards. I looked for a school that offered the suitable course material and specialization in the course I wanted to enrol in. However, I found that most colleges only offered Masters of Business Administration degrees and that Nepal does not offer a postgraduate degree for the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA). The fact that the current course material has not been updated in many years is one of the main problems with Nepal's educational system. Students' careers and education are impacted by the absence of updated courses and modules. Unfortunately, students are unable to keep up with the modern trends that are currently in operation due to disorganized courses. One of the key reasons why I do not want to continue my studies in Nepal is the teaching approach. To be honest, teachers and lecturers make no effort to help students realize the purpose and importance of their education, instead simply reading along the lines of books. However, that is not the case at Nepali institutions, where teaching should aspire to encourage students in understanding the principle, structure, and content of their subject. These institutions' main objective is to convince students to remember the right answers and get good marks so that they can use it to their advantage when recruiting new students. One of the various causes is that these schools do not try to give students new opportunities to put their knowledge into practice.

Reason for choosing Australia over other countries

After doing substantial research on the subject I wanted to study, it was time to decide where to study. I did my research and talked to others before deciding to study in Australia. Australia is currently the third most popular country for international students and has universities that are well-known throughout the world. The degree earned in Australia is respected all around the world, and Australian graduates have a very high success rate in landing jobs and holding influential positions. I learned about countries that were well-liked by international students, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Germany. They provide high-quality instruction, and the degrees they grant are accepted and recognized around the world. Australia has effectively developed a top-notch educational system, as evidenced by the fact that 83% of international students are pleased with the educational resources they received there. The best in the world, Australian institutions and universities offer high possibilities for international students. Along with higher education, universities and colleges also provide technical and vocational training. Over 2200 degrees are offered by the approximately 1100 educational institutions in Australia, seven of which are ranked in the top 100 by the QS World University Ranking. Additionally, it has been ranked as one of the ten happiest counties in the world.

An Australian degree offers greater course context, resources, infrastructure, and qualified instructors. With a stronger focus on practical education and skills, the Australian degree offers both academic and practical instruction. Australian educational institutions help students get practical knowledge and improve their capacity for modeling information and inquiry while also giving them theory as a foundation. This method of teaching benefits the students since it increases their capacity for learning, and applying what they learn on a regular basis helps in their understanding of what they have learned. In order to help students understand the range of their business choices, Australia provides some of the most cutting-edge technologies and research facilities. Australian professors and educators are renowned for giving students access to cutting-edge research and technological expertise. As a result, the students might become specialists in their field. To guarantee that students are matching the requirements of the most recent market trends, Australian institutions regularly update their course content and modules. Aside from that, Australian education is wholly practical, so students are educated to be job-ready by being prepared to fulfill the expectations of the workplace. Because they are prepared for the workplace and take much less time to develop new abilities, employers value people with this level of education.

Although countries like the United States and Canada have quality education

That is equivalent to Australia's, Australia offers a few advantages that make it more attractive, like a lesser course duration. It says that even if I study in Australia for less money and time, the course's credit hours are the same as those in the US and Canada. In addition, Australia offers moderate weather compared to Canada's cold weather, which may be difficult for me to adjust to. These factors make Australia a lot safer than the United States for students who are new to the country. Moreover, Australia is more affordable than the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom; for instance, 1 USD is equal to NPR 132.57, 1 pound to NPR 160.24, 1 CAD to NPR 98.98, and 1 AUD to NPR 91.54. Australia is more financially feasible for students.

Despite having short course lengths as well, the UK is more expensive and can be out of reach financially for some students due to the wide range of currency rates. The Australian government has also made a number of provisions for the benefit of international students, such as the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) and the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act, which contains the Tuition Protection Service, which provides that any fees paid if a student is unable to enroll in a university will be paid back. CRICOS makes sure that the school and the course live up to the high standards set by international students. In fact, the Australian government provides roughly 200 million Australian dollars in foreign scholarships. Australia also permits students to work up to 40 hours every two weeks, or 20 hours every week.

Students who are studying are strongly influenced by the environment. Australia is a friendly and kind nation as well. Students who are away from home, feel at peace in this kind of environment. Australia's diversity and multi-culture make it a wonderful destination to meet friends from all over the world. Students can interact with one another while learning about the traditions, cultures, and customs of other parts of the world.

Reason to choose the University of Wollongong.

I did research on various Australian universities through their official websites. In addition to the University of Wollongong, I discovered other reputable universities such as the University of Sydney, Monash University, Curtin University, the University of Technology Sydney, Macquarie University, and the University of New South Wales. However, I made the decision to enroll at the University of Wollongong in Sydney, Australia because of its program structure, which perfectly satisfies my academic and career goals. The University of Wollongong is much more affordable with respect to the above-mentioned Universities, is known as a global leader in discovery and learning, and embraces both technology and practical learning to maximize student achievement. Therefore, I choose the University of Wollongong. I am very driven and ambitious about getting my Master's in Wollongong. My academic and professional goals are met by the Master of Professional Accounting at UOW, which may provide me with an excellent education, I discovered after intense research, brainstorming, and web exercise. The UOW has established itself as a model for the next generation of universities in Australia. It is regarded as one of the best universities in the world, is highly respected, and is known for its entrepreneurial mindset, multidisciplinary research approach, and individualized instruction. The 2018 Good Universities Guide ranked UOW as Australia's leading public university for undergraduate student experience. In comparison to graduates from all NSW universities, employers are more satisfied with UOW graduates (QILT, 2017).

With around 6000 international students studying at UOW's campuses throughout Australia each year, the university has a strong focus on and reputation abroad. I want to expand my perspective and develop my skills by enrolling in your Master's program. I'll be able to meet the objectives I have set for myself thanks to your curriculum. With its diversity of people from various cultures, UOW is a true hub of the global business world which makes it the perfect location to study a business-related degree.

Reason to choose Masters in Professional Accounting (MPA)

I am motivated to pursue a Master's degree in Professional Accounting because I am conscious of the fact that the business environment is dynamic and I need to improve my knowledge and skills. My school experiences made me realize the value of accounting in the modern business environment and the critical part that management plays in a company's long-term success. It is challenging to express the importance of accounting in businesses and the business world at large. I have chosen to pursue more education and a career in accounting because I am aware of how important it is. After a lot of thought, I have come to the conclusion that having advanced training in accounting and related fields is necessary to build a successful career in accounting in the current business environment. I was born and raised in Nepal, which has recently moved from a poor manufacturing-based economy to a more technology-based one in response to globalization. I have a strong interest in participating in the business sector as a result of growing up in such a complex economy. I am very excited to start advanced business courses because I have such a strong passion for business.

Modes of sponsorship

My family openly supported my plan to study abroad. My family members are well-educated and they are well aware of the Australian educational system. My family is in a very excellent financial state and is willing to support my tuition and the living expenses needed for me to study in Australia, even though studying abroad will definitely cost more than studying in Nepal.

Future planning

There are countless opportunities. Since financial accountants have all the abilities that organizations require and are in high demand, earning a Master of Professional Accounting will put me in demand across a wide range of industries. Accountancy is one of the fastest-growing professions. I planned to return to Nepal after completing the Master's program and work as an accounting professional for one of the top international accounting and finance organizations, where I would be able to interact with a wide range of people, businesses, and financial situations. I have mentioned that your program in accounting and management helps me to accomplish my goals. I wish to work in this sector for a very long time and help a lot of different companies. Various large international and domestic companies, including Ncell, Coca-Cola, Durbar Nepal, Chaudhary Group, and Bhat-Bhateni Group, are searching for dynamic accounts in their corporate. I think there will be plenty of options to explore after I return home with a range of skills and ability reputation, and I do have it in my mind to work for a wide range of organizations. Working for one of Nepal's top firms in the accounting profession will make me feel blessed, thus I wish to join one of them.

Declaration

I am completely aware of the student visa condition during my stay in Australia. While the course is in action, I am not allowed to work more than 40 hours a week. As required by the education provider, I must maintain 80% attendance in this course progress for each study period. I cannot switch colleges 6 months after enrolling, and I must tell the college within seven days if my address or other contact information changes. During my time in Australia, I must keep health insurance. The information above is accurate in every way, and I am well aware that false or misleading information could lead to the refusal of my application for admission or a student visa.

The opportunity to pursue my particular field of study at one of the most famous universities in the world would be a valuable learning opportunity for my beginning career and help prepare me for more success in the long run. I honestly promise to follow all instructions given to me and to finish getting my master's degree. If given the chance to study in a quality competitive environment on a global level, I will put all of my effort and dedication into earning a degree of the highest quality at such a renowned university.

Thank you for having a look at my application. I promise to wait patiently for your response in order to make my dream a reality.
